Was Ryan Seacrest's stalker planning to kill him?

Ryan Seacrest reports being "fine" on Twitter after a horrifying weekend that involved obtaining a restraining order against a man arrested on suspicion of stalking the famous television and radio personality best known for hosting American Idol.

The alleged stalker, who is now in police custody, was already on probation for reportedly having physically attacked Ryan Seacrest's bodyguard.

Some have begun wondering if the man would have attempted to murder Ryan Seacrest when he successfully entered E! offices Friday. Thankfully, the man was detained by security before he could get to Seacrest.

Although few details are known, the alleged stalker's history suggests a propensity for violence - a recipe for potentially fatal consequences if not brought under control.

Since 1989, when Robert John Bardo killed actress Rebecca Schaeffer, the Hollywood community has taken the threat of stalkers very seriously, particularly those who exhibit violent histories.

Fortunately for Ryan Seacrest, the perpetrator in question is behind bars at this hour, with a court hearing scheduled for November 17th.
